Mac Davis, Singer, Actor and TV Variety Show Host, Dies at 78

Mac Davis, the singer-songwriter who parlayed pop and country hits into a network TV variety show and acting career, has died. He was 78.

I'll remember fondly the night I had gone to one of his shows kicking off a tour and needed to get some documents signed for the tour, not expecting much beyond having a staff member do the legwork so to speak. However, he invited my girlfriend and I to his dressing room; he was extremely gracious and friendly and played bartender in his dressing room for my girlfriend and I. A down to earth and truly nice man. RIP.
