Here in Australia prices for rigid Rockwool/Glasswool board are extraordinary, whilst researching this for some time I've stumbled upon a product that seems to be just as efficient at almost a quarter of the price...

Can anyone tell me if it's as good an alternative as I believe it to be :confused:

Plenty of Aussie options at the above link.
Those one's on that list are quite expensive, plus the link to the product I posted isn't there..

The differences I see are below 500Hz

@ 125 Hz
Sonobatts 0.33
OC 703 0.66

@250Hz
Sonobatts 0.74
OC 703 0.95

In use as a broadband trap and or speaker dampening, should I be concerned about the low absorption performance @125Hz ?

The document says it comes in other thicknesses...75mm and 100mm. The testing data is for 50mm. Doubling the thickness to 100mm should get you much closer to the OC703 performance data.

I think glasswool will be fine for your needs. As you get lower in hz directionality is less significant. Since that is the point of broadband rear wall treatment. I think you'd be fine.

Do you mean 32kg/m3? If so, that's really not bad at all. If that's what's readily available, you can make it work.

Sorry I was mistaken, it is 32kg/m3
