Right receiver with right speakers?

Ok, so one of my neighbors is saying that I have the wrong receiver in my living room....so my newbie self is in need of some advice.

Right now I have a Sony STR-DH790 in the living room that I bought new last year, paired with a set of Bose 701s with matching center. (yes, I know....) Polk height and surrounds with a Mirage sub.

In the garage I have a Denon AVR-S730H that I somehow scored with a pair of Polk Monitor 60s and matching center channel on FB Marketplace for $50. Have that in the garage (the speakers look like crap because the previous owner's dog messed up the grills).

I also have a couple of lower-end Onkyos in the basement and office downstairs, but I think those are fine there. (75-80 watts per channel, etc).

What do you all think? Should the Denon be in the main living area as my neighbor has told me? Should I bring one of the Onkyos into the garage instead?

All setups that I have are Atmos 5.2.1.

Thanks in advance!

Wow you got a near $500 avr for basically free? Fb prices are insanely high here .
The Sony is newer and supposedly more powerful. How do you think it currently sounds ? You could switch them up just to see if you here any difference.

What's his logic as to what avr goes where? What's yours? If it works for you....

There is no real "this AVR goes best with these speakers", but I do agree with quality with quality. If it is enough power for the setup, it is fine. I would put the most powerful one in the place you listen the most.

If you aren't able to make a matched setup right now, and along with what Kingnoob said, if you are happy with it, it doesn't matter what someone else says.
