RF Remote Problems

My Kenwood VR-4080 gives me spotty performance due to interference from other devices.
The remote antenna plugs in with a small headphone jack. I have tried different lengths of wire to no avail.
Is there an amplified antenna or some other solution I can try?

Maybe its the actual remote itself. You can try another RF remote and see if that solves the issue. I'm not familiar with the Kenwood but maybe an IR/RF solution that can give you some emitters to place over the IR sensor on the component.
