I just (today) sold a pair of F12's, and they will be missed. A true full-range speaker. Excellent midrange and authoritative bass. But, have them pulled out a ways from the back wall or they have the potential to sound boomy.

They have a vinyl wrapped enclosure, but it's very well done.

If you're serious about the F12's, I don't think you can go wrong as long as your room is large enough to handle them.

The only reason I sold my pair was because the room is changing purposes. :(

Glad to here you got them sold. I'm sure you made someone very happy, especially for the price you were asking.

I found a dealer in my area that sells the Concerte F12's and the Paradigm Reference line that being said I told them I had a buget of around 1500$ they kind of just blew me :mad:off didn't get to lisen to any thing. It was a big disapointment since it took me almost a month to find them. I was looking for a 8ohm speaker because my avr is a denton 988.I was considering the f12's 6ohm but could get them about a hour away. Was also looking at the Kef IQ9sand Axiom M-60.I lisen to classik rock and soft rock the room is about 25'x25x8' in the basement hardwoodover concret floors drop celing. I lisen at moderit vol. but like to crank it up at times will upgrade to a 5.1 system in the future( if I still have a job) already have a svs pdb 12sub. Might have found a place in Nashville to hear the KEF's but might be awhile before i can make the drive. Can anyone give me their opiion on how the f-12s ,IQ9's and m-60 compare in sound and quality? Your info and opinions are welcome thanks for ur time and help:)!

Next time you walk into a dealer's place, don't tell them your budget.....

Just say you haven't decided just yet, and would like to sample a number of their speakers to see what they have to offer in different price range...

If they think that money is less of an object to you, you will have doors open in front of you... trust me...

Excellent suggestion, Warp! That's a very good approach.

I typically waltz in with a stop watch wired to some bars of modeling clay strapped around my chest while mumbling, "music soothes me...music soothes me," but I like your plan, too.

LOL

Good suggestion Warp.

I've run into some of that behavior as well. But I must say that I got much better treatment when I walked in with four or five CDs, and a note pad then I did when walking in empty handed. No matter what my budget was, they knew I was serious about buying some speakers, and that I would gladly take my business elsewhere if I found them unhelpful.

I am a little confused why they steered you away from the Revels> They retail for $1200, and you should be able to negotiate a discount on top of that. As for sound quality, I have the Performa F52s and I love them. I listened to Paradigm, Monitor Audio, B&W, and Cantons. I preferred the Revels to all auditioned. We all realize that sound is subjective though. Good luck and enjoy the search, I found it quite fun!!!
