I have my old man's 34yr old solid thorn speakers sitting in the lounge acting as ornaments and beer stands. The brittled driver's have seen the end of their days so i've decided to try revamp and hopefully give him a surprise
hopefully they dont explode on me! lol
I've cleanly gutted these unpartitioned boxes and assessed what i must do to partition using mdf to allow for a subwoofer and mid/high range speaker. I couldnt remove/replace the front as it will damage the box so im left with only 2 8" holes.
I'd like to ask a few questions about configuring the left and right speakers
can i route a subwoofer 100w and mid/high speaker 100w using a single 200w poweramp instead of biwiring?
If i can use this method, how do i go about connecting for example just the left speaker and it's drivers, should i be using a mono or stereo amp, and how many channels should it be?
can i use a 2way speaker for it's mid and high or will the poweramp do somthing?
