Resource for dynamic range of CD's/Digital Tracks

With so much digitized music having it's dynamic range cut short (so it plays LOUD) is there a resource to tell if the music you are looking at purchasing actually has 8 or 9 dB of range instead of what ever they are doing now?

I am starting to look at FLAC from HDTracks.com but I still like to have physical CD's with liner notes etc....
