This is the first BR movie that I have tried that wouldnt load. I put it in the PS3, the little signal thing spins around and it never finds the disc. Has amyone else found this issue?

Interesting, which PS3 do you have? What's the latest firmware update you have? I have this same movie, it has no problems on my 40 GB PS3. A little note, that movie is the first profile 2.0 Blu-ray that was available in the US. Have you tried any other movies or games since you tried loading that disc?

I've got the 80g ps3 with the new system update, v2.20. No probs loading that movie, with profile 2.10 either. I did have a similar issue where something wouldn't load, the system froze with that spinning gizmo. I cured it by unplugging the ps3 then plugging it back in.

Loading RE:Extinction again to be sure...

...worked fine, no problems.

Have you tried unplugging the PS3?

It's the 80 gig with the latest update.

All other movies work fine.

I have not tried unplugging as it's difficult to get to.

With my panasonic BD, the Resident Evil Extinction BD does take forever to load -- maybe 1-2 minutes. But it does work eventually. I've seen this BD 3 different times now.

Just unplugged it and it still doesnt work. I guess it is a bad disc?

I had the exact same problem with The Last Samurai blu ray disc in my PS3 40 gig ver. 2.2 firmware... couldn't get it to work, so I sent it back to blockbuster and had them send me the HD DVD version, which worked fine and had a Dolby Digital + sound track, where the Blu Ray version I believe only has the standard dolby digital track. However I will note that the DD+ track on the HD DVD was very low, I had to turn my receiver up 10db more than normal to get to my usual listening level.

This has been the first and only disc so far to have that problem, hopefully it will be the last. I'm just glad it didn't happen to a disc that I purchased.

The Last Samurai on Blu-ray has 5.1 multichannel PCM, which is every bit as good as Dolby Digital TrueHD from my understanding.

I just pulled the power cord from the back of the ps3 itself, waited 10-20 seconds, then pushed it back in. Have you tried loading a different BD or regular dvd?

I tried my copy again, it loads up almost instantly. Maybe you have a bad disc.
