Research for new TV

I have been doing research on a new TV to replace my aging Mit's RPTV from 1999. Since I plan on having the TV for quite a few years I want to incorporate the best features available at this time (between now and this fall/winter) Below is what I am looking for. I have two questions - what TVs do the member know of that have the below specs and what sources are out there for researching HDTVs (Online) as I seem to have run into a road block finding good reviews/news of HDTVs (Cnet, AVS Forums, Ultimate AV, Sound and Vision)

Leaning towards Rear Projection as flat panel is not that important. But would consider.
-1080p display
-Able to accept 1080p/24/60
-HDMI 1.3
-120hz refresh rate

Thanks

Since you are thinking more rearpro (which I think the best performance/$ is) it looks like the Sony XBR5 and A3000 which are to be released in the near future has at least:
1080p
1080p/24
HDMI 1.3
120Hz

Looks like you may want to look into them. They are not currently released yet si you find any reviews but you can find the A2000 ans XBR 2 reviews. Sound and Vision did one. I have a 50" inch A2000 and love it. I am getting HD over antenna an it looks great.

There is a few big threads over at AVS on the new Sony's you may want to check out.

I've done a ton of research, reading all those forums, as well as going out and looking at the sets. My viewing distance ranges from 7' to 15'.

My wife and I like these:
1. Panasonic TH-58PZ700u, and TH-50PZ700u.
2. Samsung LED DLP HLT-5089. and HLT-6189.
3. Pioneer PDP 5070, and PDP 5080.

Yes I know the Pioneer's arn't 1080p native, but from what I've read and seen, they look better then alot of them.

We thought about the Pioneer Elite's for a heart beat, and then saw the price.

We're going on vacation for 2-3 weeks, during that time, we'll have to discuss the $'s more and buy 1 when we get back.

I've friends who have had problems with the Sony XBR2/3's. Specifically with the quality of the product, and they also all have the cloud problem.
