I would like a recommendation for an upgrade to an AV system. I’ve looked through the most recent few pages of threads, and haven’t been able to find one the really fit.
I already have a TV (Sony Bravia KDL-40EX500) and DVD/Blu-Ray player. This is in a room about 24’X28’ partially open to a room of roughly equivalent volume.
Use of the system will be approximately 85% viewing movies on DVD, 10% listening to music on CD, 5% playing video games. Top priority for the system is clear dialog in movies. My hearing is slightly impaired, and I sometimes have trouble there.
My budget is around $1000. That’s not a hard limit, but I won’t go much over. I would consider waiting on some of the components (i.e. speakers) if that would make any sense.
