Replacement Sub for dead Cerwin Vega--- help....!

Howdy,

I have a dead sub that was part of a Cerwin Vega HT in a box set. I've had the amp replaced once under warranty (crackly and wouldn't come out of standby, etc.), but now that it's no longer under warranty, it won't come out of standby and I'm getting something new (and not CV). I really like the CV set and the sub was more than adequate (when it worked). I'm looking at the BIC F12 as a replacement, but the only thing that concerns me is that I'm going from 200 RMS to 150. I'm assuming someone will tell me that this doesn't matter much. The F12 does have higher peak power (not that it matters), wider frequency response, and well, it should actually work. So, am I going to be disappointed in this move? I listen to music and do the home theater thing, but I'm not really a serious audiophile. I also looked at the EV1200 and the PL200, but he EV has a lesser warranty and the PL200 is a bit more than I want to spend.

I was going to post links to the CV sub and the F12, but I don't have enough posts yet. So, I'll just show the basics below....

Check out Hsu Research. I had a Sony SA-WX700 for a number of years where the amp quit unfortunately. I'm pretty happy with the Hsu.

Best bang for buck for less than 300 is the NXG NX-BAS-500. afterlife2 posted a link to it for $211 in the deals and steals forum area a couple weeks ago. I'll find it and edit this when I get a chance.

Edit: I just found the link (here), but they're out of stock. NewEgg also had a deep discount on them, but the seller offering the discount appears to have sold out there as well. Still, it's great performance for the money even at full retail price. I'd recommend the NXG over the BIC.

Thanks, guys. I'll take a look at these. Based on the responses, I'm guessing the BIC F12 (or one of their others) would not be your first choice for a replacement?
