My preamp (Aragon 18K) has an external power supply. The transformer is now defective and making buzzing/humming noise. I will try to have it repaired, but it may not be possible due to the model year (probably about 10 years old). The other option is to source another power supply for it. It requires a 24VDC & minimum 250mA rating power supply. Reading on the InterNet, there seems to be linear and switched power supplies available.
Anyone with experiences and advice for external power supplies for audio gears? One option is to use a power supply meeting the spec. intended for laptop computers.
