Well my wife brought home a Harmony 659 universal remote tonight that she found a good deal on at a Comp USA that was closing down. I didnt think I really needed one but I have to say that it is really cool. Took only a few minutes to set it all up and it seems to control all my gear. She likes it because she can now figure out how to work everything...want to watch TV, hit "watchTV", want to listen to a CD...awe...you get the picture....

They really are excellent for most purposes. I bought one for the wife and my 8 year old girl. Funny thing is, the 8 year old can use all the individual component remotes better than her mom.

I know; that's strange. Maybe I could start some kind-of fad using all the same numbered equipement like the grr-anamials clothing line or whatever it was called. I will call Paradigm, Oppo and Panny and see if they will make a 659 model for me...
