Hi everyone I have a klipsch r12sw and I have chosen 2 subs to upgrade to the svs sb3000 and the rel s812. I do know that the rel’s price tag is hefty for what your getting but the svs looks like it has less output than the rel btw this is being used for my home theater but what would go deeper and what will have more output across most of the frequency’s many thanks for your help.

If it is HT output you seek, any reason are you not getting ported subs?

The REL is a much prettier sub, but at $3.3k, you could get dual SB3000s for $2.3k. Dual subs are much more adapt at providing even coverage across several seats.

For HT output, consider dual, ported, PC2000 Pros at $2.1k. They take about the same floor space as the REL or SB options. See pic from my HT for how they look.

Complete agree with Eagle here. Imo 3200 for a sealed REL(or any sealed sub except maybe FUNK) is insane. For that money I’d look at a pair of PB3000. Rythmik fv15hp is a little over the cost of pb3k’s but would be my choice. HSU also offers excellent value with their dual drive bundle.
Big question is how big is the room? What volume do you listen at?
The good news is almost anything from one of the above will be an improvement.

I'm also wondering about the choice of a sealed sub over ported. Do you have a particular footprint size to stay within? How do you figure the Rel has greater output in any case? Rel never appealed to me, too expensive for too little performance (and a distinct lack of measurements/third party testing).
