Register or not?

When one buys products the manufacturer asks you to register the purchase; supply the serial number, etc. Sometimes they ask for un-necessary data, like gender, age, address, etc. I realize this 'registration' process is for Marketing purposes. Sometimes they offer 'free' stuff. Does anyone in AudioholicLand bother registering their purchases? Just curious.

Generally not, altho I believe for some Behringer units it would extend the warranty....but normally by law the warranty is enforced and all you end up with is more marketing crap.

Sometimes. Some are very simple and just want your name, address, and model/serial number of what you purchased. Those I will register. Others seems to want you life history. I know they use it for analytics into their customer base. Others will collect the data and sell it. So I try to be picky about who/what I register.
