Refurbished Yamaha RX-Z1

Hello guys! I have just seen on the net availability of refurbished Yamaha RX-Z1 refurbished by Yamaha at a lower price. I'm interested to get this amp for a long time but the price of the new one is still up my budget. Do you have any experience buying a refurbished amp? Is this a good deal?

You will get a lot of opinions on this but I've purchase many refurbished receivers and electronics including my current Denon 3805 with no problems. You should be looking for 25-40% off of retail going this route. A few random thoughts: some believe refurbs have been checked...again...so they might have less of a chance of failing than a new unit. I think you have a similar chance of failure with a refurb as you do with a new unit. Let's face it, the reason there are refurbs in the first place is the new stuff failed. And I'd rather buy a refurb with a warranty than new from an unauthorized dealer with no warranty.

I read where a lot of people buy the refurbished stuff. You can get good deals. I think even Denon has their own refurbished site called Dakmart? There appear to be some great deals on there. Either way, new or used, you will love the Z1. It is a great receiver. If you go refurbished, let us know how it works out!
