refurbished/remanufactured ; worth savings???

Talked ealier about JBL L series speakers. Ran across their corp website and stumbled upon their refurbished website. Can save cosiderable dollars on high end models. Any experience out there. Still have warranty on these. Performance is main consideration, dont care too awfully much about a minor appearance flaw .

When it comes to speakers, refurb is a safe bet. They've been selling those refurbs on their site as well as eBay for quite some time.

My amplifier, pre/pro, and 6 out of 7 speakers were originally bought as refurbished, demo, or blemished. I've already been eyeing fancy 2-ch electronics for the future and have noticed some very good deals for refurbed stuff. I think Pass Labs, etc. Refurbed stuff often still comes with warranty. Same with demo's, or at least mine did with 5-yr.

Some people think hi-end electronics represent the choice between buying a new or used car. Some like it new, and others feel that the immediate depreciation of "driving it off the lot" is not worth it. It can be a difference of thousands.

If you're talking about HarmanAudio on ebay...go forth without fear. I've dealt with them a few times and came away really satisfied. Everything I bought from them was listed as refurbished, but was instead brand-spanking new, in perfect condition, and did not have the "Z" suffix at the end of the serial number (which designates true refurbs). I think it's just overstock that they're selling, and justify the price reduction to their dealers in this fashion.

Their current auctions on the L2's and L890's (in beech, maple, and black) are bringing fabulously low prices to the public.

I have also purchased refurbished Harman product speakers from their eBay direct account. They were 'as new' condition based on inspection and in terms of actual performance they measured as expected(no issues).
