I am looking at buying some Mach One speaker, the second gen, they need to be refoamed. I found the kits on eBay, but I have never done this before and I want to know how difficult it is before I decide to undertake this project.

Any help or info would be great.

Thanks

What do you mean second gen? There was the Mach One. Then the Mach Two. I have used both of these models in times past, and the Mach One is a far superior device in every possible way. The Mach One woudl be worth getting, I suppose, for some purposes. The Mach Two played off the name and used far lower price parts/construction to increase profits and I can not recommend the Mach Two.

Either way, www.partsexpress.com carries surround replacement/repair kits under the speaker building section.

By first gen I mean the 4024, the ones I was looking at are the 4029s which are still the Mach Ones but a different model

The second gen Mach 1 or the Mach 2's are nothing like the first gen Mach 1, #4024; as far as internal components.
It's as Chris said, Mach 1 is far superior. I agree, as long as it's the 1st gen #4024.
Save your money and time. The 4029's aren't worth it.
