Red ink on LG screen.

Bought a new LG 30FS4D CRT HD TV, Friday nite.
Last nite I noticed a red ink mark square in the middle of the screen. Did not notice as I set the TV up on Sat and Sunday not around.
I have suggestions from LG.

I am just curious if this has happened before, whether an LG or other brand.

Also- on this TV it has a "Calibration" plug/input - nine pin (serial?).
Where can I buy a calibration tool/device- if there is such a thing.

Thx

I have a lg dlp this red dot dosen't seem normal. Was this dot there on a specfic channel or network because I've seen what looked to be a dead pixel flipped to other channel's and it wasn't evident and hasn't been seen since!Did LG costomer support give you answer?:)

No- definetely an ink stain.
I was just curious if this happens during manufacturing process and shipping.

If it is in a sealed box, it isn't going to happen during shipping. If it was there when you opened the box, then it happened before the box was sealed. Many bad things can happen in a factory, though, obviously, they are interested in minimizing the occurrence of such problems.

Do you have any small children by any chance? People have been known to be sloppy with ink and other substances, and they do not always confess to their mistakes. Since you did not notice it right away, it is possible that someone put it there while in your possession.

Anyway, you were wise to get suggestions from LG for how to deal with this.
