Recording vcr to vcr

I think i know pretty well how to use the RCA leads and everything, my problem is that i have a different tv - a Siemens FS 349. The ends of the leads are different, like giant plugs. So i've tried connecting two vcrs, to record from one to another, with those but i'm getting nowhere. I can see the picture playing from the record VCR but not from the source machine. Does anyone know how to work these things? Please? I'm going nuts.

I use a JVC JX100 video switcher. This allows me to connect 4 video sources together with dubbing between them and ouput any of the four to my monitor.
