Hi,
I took on some information you guys already gave me which helped me narrow my searches a lot and now I'm back for some more advice :)

My budget is <£500 as before, but now I am stuck between:

Speakers: JBL Studio 130 2-way = £150
or Wharfedale 10.1 Diamond = £157

Amp: Yamaha AS500 = £249
or Cambridge Audio Topaz SR10 = £229

Which of each of these have you heard better things about? From the reviews I wanted to go for the Wharfedale's but the JBL's also have great reviews. The Yamaha AS500 was my first choice but any opposing opinions would be helpful.
Any recommended brands in the UK for subs or specific Sub models would be nice too.
I know that is a lot of information, but any light you could shed on it would be really useful.
Thanks in advance

Update on the situation, I think I'm going to go with the Wharfedale diamond 10.1's with an Onkyo tx8050. This will not leave me much for a sub so I will try to scrape some more money together and attach one down the line, I should be able to get somewhere around the £100 mark maybe a little more if need be.

Any suggestions on subs in that price range?

I just saw those Wharfedale's - I like them, at least the look. We need to get some in for review. The Onkyo is a no-brainer - great amp.

One thing on the sub is that if you can hold off for a few more paychecks, perhaps you can get a better one. You really start to get into some decent options when you hit £200-£300.
