My mom is looking for a new TV for her bedroom, since the previous TV is having a myriad of problems. Her current TV is about 26" 4:3 I'd guess, and she wanted something a little bit bigger. Anything bigger than 32 would just be overkill. Anyone have any recommendations on an LCD around 32"? Would it be worth it in the long run to get 1080P over 720P?

Thanks!

Most 32" and under aren't commonly 1080p. There are some, but they tend to be either more expensive or 2nd teir "no-name" brands. Samsung makes a 26" 1080p that has gotten very good reviews and it is around $350 shipped. I just looked at a 24" Viewsonic 1080p that looks quite good as well and it is on sale at Frys for $260. If cost isn't a limiting factor, I'd stick with Sony or Samsung in the 32" range. More expensive, but worth it IMO. I've looked at a lot of TVs this size recently as I am looking for one to replace the CRT my son keeps leaving on all night in his room.

Dell has a Sony for $431 and there is a Toshiba on sale at some online place for $399:
