Recommendations on TV without extra features?

I have bought an Oppo 103 Bluray player which has all the features I could want built into the device. Is there such a thing as a monitor only version of a big screen TV? I only need a few USB ports...no tuner, no wireless, no internet, no frills....any suggestions? Just want high Def for bluray.

Just because you have features doesn't mean you have to use them.

I'm sure you could research monitors but they might be a little spartan for your needs. A few USB ports are "extras" in themselves and getting just the bells and whistles you want without any others might be difficult.

There are large format monitors out there, they typically cost 5-7 times of regular tv

Your request is going to get harder and harder. Just like cars they almost all come with trunks. You may never use the trunk but you are getting it.

The 7000 series from Samsung for plasmas will deliver a scaled back version of the 'Smart' feature set from their 8000/9000 series which saves some cash and hits a very good 'value' price point with outstanding image quality.

But, as said, the extended feature sets go hand-in-hand with the better performing displays and use those features or not, you will be getting them thrown in with the better displays.

I believe you meant HDMI ports in your first post, not USB ports... right? There is no reason to have USB ports unless you want some 'Smart' features on your TV.
