Hi James, have you personally auditioned speakers from either DM or Salk audio since you randomly recommend them? I'd also like to ask you which Ascends have you heard?
Just curious...is all!
Honestly I haven't had the chance too. I do have it on my to do list. I have seen the measurement, components and craft quality plus many members love them. I know Ascends tend to have more brightness though that may have changed in recent versions. Unfortunately there just aren't many places to audition the quality ID brands anymore. But I have seen what Dennis can do his crossover design skills and am very impressed. Obviously I'll probably never own these speakers since I am a builder, but I've never heard Mark's speakers either and I am certain they are among the best in the world. One of these days I hope to see his speakers in person. I should look up some folks and do an audition though. I have heard many speakers and they belong on the list. I'm not aware if Ascend has an audition setup like Salk does. Maybe Greg should buy some so I can go audition them with a nice bottle of scotch.

Recommending what I have and I will say it sounds amazing.

HTD Level THREE Tower Speakers For my L&R
HTD Level THREE Center Channel Speaker For my Center.

I power them with the XPA3 and they sounds fantastic. They will sound even better when this arrives that I just bought JTR SpeakersÂ*|Â* Captivator 2400
I agree with this. The Level 3 speakers are VERY good. The ribbon tweeter is very crisp and lifelike. When I heard them the song that was playing had a triangle in it which would could almost point to where the person playing it was standing. It almost sound like it was in the room with you. It's been a long time since I've heard a tweeter that was able to do that.
