Hi..People...Below are my newly purchased HT.
Yamaha RXV1400 A/V
Yamaha NS555,C444,NS333 Main,Center,Rear Speaker.
Robertson Audio MB100 Subwoofer
AudioQuest *4 Flat Cables and assorted brand of Interconnects
Since there are only one Audio Shop in my area, this is the best that I can get for my new HT Setup. I am thinking of adding a Power Amp and let the Yammy be the PRE..Any idea ..What P/A works best with the Yammy?
Also thinking of getting a pair of rear surround speaker and maybe another Sub..maybe Yammy SW315? Any better idea? I'm tryin to push these HT combination to it's best limit.Any idea will be appreciated.

Hey guys, I just bought a rx-v1400 today. I am also thinking about speakers. I ultimately want to go with a B&W DM600 series, but right now I have a few pairs of LM1s and a pair of VM1s. I am not totally sure what I am going to do, but hopefully someday soon I'll get it all together. What do you think about my idea to use the DM600s? I was thinking 603 s3 for the fronts, lcr600 for center, two pairs of 602 s3 for the rear and back, and the asw600 for the sub. I have listened to some other speakers beside the B&Ws, but they didn't do anything for me. Also alot of the stereo places I go to are so snobbish, that I feel like I don't belong there. Let me stop rambling, tell me what you guys think. Thanks.

Ive heard the 603's and they are great IMHO. I liked them better than the Paradigms I heard. I know what you mean about not feeling quite comfortable in some of those places, especially if you want to bring your own music to test. It just feels strange is all.

LOL, I didn't have problems with bringing my own music, but the guy looked like I was bothering him. I know I wasn't wearing a 3 piece suit looking Wall Street and all, isn't money money. Let me stop talking about that. So did you see any other speakers that sounded good? Unfortunately the place that I got to listen to the 600s don't do Yamaha. I think B&W only allow Rotels to be equiped to them. Do you guys think the 600s will be too much for the 1400? But to me they sound so good. I hope they sound as good with the 1400. Oh another question, what speaker wires are you guys using? I am new to stereo systems, so all I know are Monster cables. Also what's a decent budget for cables? Well, I'll stop here.

Yeah, this was a high end place, but the guy was cool and I got there almost at closing. He probably had a Rotel with the 603's I didnt look. I think Yammie can handle them, but an amp for the fronts would be a great addition. I heard the paradigm next the 603 except the paradigms were bigger.

You can do better than the B&W 6 series for the same or less money
The 6 series in the B&W line is the marketing line very high profit margin for B&W RBH,Pinnacle Black Diamond ,Axiom, and Anetha all provide higher bang for the buck
Just MOHO

Keep the Yamaha NS series for rears as well and the SW-315 is a fantastic sub for the price, as for amp, look for Yamaha MX-630/830 or MX-2 on eBay which would go well with your speakers and the Yamaha RXV-1400 would be a good pre for them.

I have a RX-V1400 as well. The store I bought from sold Rotell as well as Yamaha. I auditioned both the B&W 600s and some from Phase Technologys but in the end liked Klipsch reference series the best. All of these were on a RX-V2400 the B&W were a nice sounding speaker with the Yammie just the wife and I both though the Klipsch sounded better to us. I will say the B&W asw-600 sub is a pretty decent piece. I went back and had a second listen on the subs and it hit way harder than any of the other subs in the same price range they offered.
