recommendation for my new Christmas speakers please

I'm looking for a new receiver for my new Aperion Audio 5.1 home theater. Probably willing to spend in the neighborhood of $500. I don't need any fancy video features just looking for something with power and quality for listening to acoustic music and occaisional movies and videogames. Possibly will upgrade to 7.1 with some powered tower speakers in the future. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Marantz, Denon, or Yamaha have the best quality and sound for the price range you're looking at... at least in my opinion.

Let us know how they sound.
I would look for a Yamaha RX-V1500 or HTR5890 for about $500 from an authorized dealer. I think the Denon 2805 should be in a similar price range.

The Pioneer 1015K would be a very good choice.
