I'm thinking of upgrading my Onkyo 5.1 reciever. I want to upgrade to the new 7.1 receiver. The receiver that I am looking for should have good solid sound. This receiver will be used 60% for music listening and 40% for watching dvd's. The speakers that I have are Studio Labs, which are a canadian made company, these speakers are rated at 4 ohms. The receivers that I have been reviewing are the Denon AVR3806, Yamaha RXV2600 and the Marantz SR6001. I would like to know what you guys think of these choices. I am also open to other recommendations that you guys might have.

Thanks!

Do you now have a 7.1 setup with speakers or planning to do so in the near future? If yes, great; if not why upgrade now?
All those options are valid. But all speakers being 4 ohms may limit volume out capability unless you have a receiver that is actually rms rated into 4 ohm speakers

Yes, I am going to have a 7.1 setup soon. My front main speakers are floor standing three way and only those are rated at 4 ohms, and the rest are at 8 ohms. So i just want to know if the Denon and the Marantz are capable of driving those 4 ohms speakers. Also those speakers are rated at 150 watts rms.

thanks

Yes, you should be fine with either.
