Reciever between $500 and $800

I have been looking at some of the less pricier AV recievers for awhile and decided it was time to put in a little more. I enjoy both movies and music (although I do listen to quite a bit more music). I have a pair of Klipsh RB-25s up front and I am looking to fill in the rest as time goes on. I presently have a Panasonic SA-HE100, a sturdy inexpensive AV reciever that has served me quite well over the years. I have been looking at many reviews but many are for recievers well over my price range. I am looking for something powerful and up to date technology wise. I have read up on some Yamaha's and Denon's in this price range, some with mixed reviews. Any recommendations ???

Check out the Onkyo 604 and Onkyo 703, and the Yamaha RXV 1600 at www.pricegrabber.com for pricing. Ubid has a refurbished Yamaha 2500 for under $500.

I just got the Onkyo 703 about 3 weeks ago, and so far, love it. It lists for $799, but I got it through an authorized online retailer for $539

checkout accessories4less.com for a Marantz 7500 for $650 or the 8500 for $899. THe 7500 is a really good deal at that price IMO. I'd rather have either of those receivers than the ones listed. I have an 8400 (a year older), and every complaint I had (only about options not power or quality) have been addressed. On the same website the Onkyo 803 is $649. It is a refurb, but comes with the 1 year warranty directly from Onkyo.

I'd check out the Marantz, Integra, and Pioneer. There is a lot to choose from in those 3 lines.
