Recessed onwall speaker plate - exists?

I've decided to go with on wall speakers for my HT set up - I know most folks would just cut a hole in the sheetrock (or cut a hole in a blank wall plate) to run the speaker wire to the speaker - I was hoping for a slight more elegant solution...

I'm looking for something like a recessed speaker wall plate that would allow access to the terminations below the surface level of the wall (essentially a recessed wall plate).

I swear I've seen something like this where the wall plate is actually a small box and the terminations are available slightly recessed...(I've searched the web, couldn't find something like this).

If you know a source for something like this, please share...

Thanks,

- Matt

Try Parts Express under speaker building, these are similar to those recessed on the back of speakers, I'll PM you the link

Elegant Solution- MAYBE

Yes, they do make recessed plates but you would still end up with wire that require hiding behind the speakers.

Here's what I did with standard 5-way binding post plates:

I made a small frame that fills the space between the surround and the wall. At the top of the frame is a screw for hanging the speaker. Painted it black and hung it with screw-in drywall anchors.

It was either that or you can use a low-voltage old work box directly behind the terminals. This way the wire can stay in the box/hole-in-wall.
