4 of the same threads is a good way to get ignored, not to get a quick answer.

If that receiver has preamp outs get an amp. No setting is going to make it 4 Ohm capable. If you have a small room and cross them over around 80Hz and don't listen loud, it might be OK, but an amp would be a better idea.

Yea, you can thump them. You can also use the shift key and punctuation keys, their on your keyboard.

This forum is packed full of great info, but if your post are hard to read with run on sentences, no punctuation and caps, no one will bother reading them. We're all old and like to pick on people and if you make it easy were going to do it. Since you probably got a million amp questions, turn on auto correct like the rest of us.

I am not sure I would have gone with the Polk LSi15 speakers if "pounding" was the goal, but if you can afford it, this should get them about as far along those lines as they are capable:

XPA-2 | 300W x 2 | Emotiva Audio | High-end audio components for audiophiles and videophiles, spanning 2-channel music systems, as well as 5.1 and 7.1 home theaters. Products include multichannel amplifiers, stereo amplifiers, and monoblock amplifier

As for the other channels of your system, it depends on what other speakers you are using. Assuming that you are sticking with the LSi series (and you definitely should get an LSi series speaker for the center front), they will all be 4 ohms, so if you want to drive them hard, you will want amplifiers rated for 4 ohms that can put out at least as much power as Polk says is the maximum the speakers can handle.

And always, when playing things loud, if the sound starts to become distorted, turn it down, as you are exceeding the limits of some piece of gear or other (either the speaker, the amplifier, or both). You might also want to research the connection between loud sounds and hearing loss, as that may be very relevant to your future if you want things to really "pound."
