Receivers with audio delay function, how much?

I'm looking (depending on price) for just how much you need to spend for a receiver that has a adjustable delay built in. I know there are stand alone units, but for $230 it would seem more logical to put that towards a whole new receiver.

All I'm looking for is a 5.1 (at the most) receiver without all the other crap on it. Hate to sound as a 'cheap' customer, but the receiver I have now has all that 'crap' and I never used it. It was a top of the line Onkyo from '93 that is only Dolby Pro Logic.

I have two rear speakers, no center nor sub and don't plan on getting them.

Thanks.

I am assuming, not good and am sure you will tell me if my assumption is incorrect, the delay you mean is for each channel for the distance they are from the listener? Back in the olden days, it was set by time. Today, as best I know, most if not all just let you set measured distances. So, you just measure and as you make your setup when assigning speakers, you also add the distance.

The least expensive option I can think of would be the Yamaha HTR5840 or Yamaha RX-V457. They both have an MSRP of $349. Any Yamaha product above that in either line will have audio-delay.

Yes. I was told my more than one these receivers with an adjustable delay feature were for TVs' with a 'lip sync' problem, namely the Samsungs'.

Thats funny why does Yamaha call it a "lip-sync delay"?
They don't. ;) What they actually say is "Delay for adjusting lip-sync", and that is correct; you are delaying the audio in order to syncronise it with the video.
