Hi everyone. New here:). I've been reading many of the posts and really appreciate the knowledge and experieces of the folks here.
I have been upgrading my system recently and added a pair of Polk LC65i in wall speakers (rears) and the receiver I have needs replacing (Pioneer VSX5600). Since my fronts are NHT 2.3A (8 ohm) and the rears 4 ohm I would like some thoughts on a receiver that won't break the budget (~$500 or less) and can handle the mix. I was thinking Yamaha, Onkyo, Pioneer. Thanks.

Almost forgot. Connecting with HDMI to a DirectTV with a Vizio 50" plasma is also in the plan.

Any of the receivers from Onkyo, Yamaha, Denon in the $500 range are good choices. Most folks would pick a receiver that has pre outs so you could add an amp sometime in the future and make sure it handles 4 ohm load.

That said, you are not going do *any better* than RX V659 as suggested by Davemcc so why not just buy one and move on to the next step in your putting together your system.
