Hi Mark,

If you would have read carefully the first post from the OP, you would have noticed his last phrase:
"Or how about at all".

* And just for your personal information, the Denon AVR-5308ci can be had for $2,500 USA, which is a very good deal for that state-of-the-art receiver.

** On another note: If my PM to you from yesterday seems a bit rough for your taste, I'd like to apologise. I was feeling quite down at the time.
Today I feel much better, and not bitter.
And I also know that you're a good guy Mark.
I am very sensitive when people say things that it's not me.
I don't care if some people hate me, but if they do for the wrong reasons, I feel obliged to let them know. That's the only way that I know off, to ameliorate the situation; or sometimes, I let go till they realise the situation.
It all depends of the intensity of my feelings at the time. I'm just human.

Regards & you have a great weekend Mark.

Sincerely,
Bob

I've been looking far and wide for a receiver that in addition to HDMI up-conversion also cross-converts audio. I know this may sound odd to most, but I really am just using my receiver as an HDMI/Component/Composite switch. I recently grabbed a new sub $1000 Denon really only because it had 5 HDMI inputs and up-converted video to the HDMI output.

What I want is a receiver that will do something similar with the dang audio too. Whether the input is Optical/HDMI/RCA I would like all audio to be converted to a chosen output. Since I am going to a Samsung soundbar I have RCA, or SPDIF input, but this current Denon only outputs what is input, so I have all these HDMI cables for video and am still needing to have RCA for the dang audio.

Is there such a device around a grand. Or how about at all?
