looking to get a receiver to run some entry level B&W's (can get a good deal on various models from the S3 series), looking at maybe a denon, marantz or yamaha (would LOVE another rotel but cant find anything) and i really wanna spend no more than $400 so im thinking something used would be my best route. its also gonna be mostly used for music mainly records, so def. want something thats gonna bring them to life

I would not make a phono stage the be all and end all, as you can by a phono preamp to place between your turntable and a line level input.

A receiver has a tuner built in, which allows you to listen to AM and/or FM radio (usually it's both, but my dad did have a receiver that was FM only).

An integrated amp does away with the tuner and therefore has no ability to get radio stations.

Other than that, they are pretty much the same.
