Hi Guys,
Alright Currently I am using an Older Pioneer Elite receiver and looking to upgrade. I was pretty dead set on the SC-37, but over and over I keep reading how great the Yamaha RX-A3000 is. My current setup does not decode dts-hd as the HDMI ports were broken when I got the Pioneer Elite (used off of ebay out of warranty clearly user abuse) so I am using optical digital for sound as of now. Anyways This next receiver will be a product of a nice tax return

and because Audioholics is awesome I can get a smoking deal on the SC-37($1319), where as the Yamaha seems to be going for about 1700+ (Ebay has it cheaper, but i would prefer to buy from either b&m store or reputable Internet store like Audioholics, Amazon etc.) I like the fact the yamaha does eq subs and is .2 as I plan on getting a second Epik Empire sometime in the future. Kind of disappointed that the Pioneer hasn't implemented this yet. It also seems Yamaha has better update support from what I read. Dollar for Dollar is the Yamaha worth the extra money? Reliability wise are they both on par? Ice amps vs Class AB? I know the sc-37 has RF built in, is this true with the yamaha as well? Every post ive read thus far says you can go wrong either way, I just want to know if you think the Yamaha is worth the extra Cash. Thanks Tommy
PS: Please Do not recommend the Marantz SR-7005. My father and I both have/had Sr5000's in both cases not only did the receiver Die but when it shorted out, It broke the Speaker Post one of my old b&w 302's and in my fathers case the receiver worked fine through most of 2 hr movie and then went into protect modeb randomly while giving off a smoke show. I will never buy a marantz product again, fluke maybe, but 2 of the exact same receivers failing at different homes with different equipment is not for me. Once again thanks ahead of time!
