Receiver setup mic differences?

I picked up a customer return/open box Pioneer Elite receiver from BB, but the only mic they have is from a Denon receiver. Should I be concerned about the receiver being set up properly with its “auto” set up routine?

Yes the Denon will not work properly with the Pioneer. Which model is it?

There is one here that has all the models it will work with listed out.

And the reasons for what I know is that the mic is calebrated to work with a particular software package (MCACC vs. Audessy). Your speaker distances and gain settings will not be set up correctly.

Differences are more than just gain and distances..

The frequency response of the microphone is a pertinent part of the Room EQ calibration software..
To match the expectations of the original S/W design engineer, one needs to use the target microphone intended for that respective AVR..

To use anything less will yield an unpredictable results..
