Looking for some help. I am trying to put together a home theater system. As with most other consumers, I am trying to get the most from my equipment. I am slowly learning by reading your discussion boards and reviews, but I realize it’s time to ask for some help on which receiver would best match my system. I currently have a Mitsubishi HC3000 with a Denon 1920 DVD. Since both of these pieces contain HDMI connections I would think that I would benefit from a receiver that has the same. These receivers are in my budget: Denon AVR2807, AVR3806, Yamaha V1600, V2600, HTR5990, and the Pioneer VSX74TXVI. I have been reading that the Denon 3806 is hard to set up. I intend to use this system for mostly viewing dvd’s, but would also like to listen to music. My room is 15’ X 24’ with 8’ foot ceiling. The speakers I intend to use are the Klipsch reference series. Any help of any kind would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I haven't thought the Denon's have been hard to set up. I've been very pleased w/ my 3806. Besides, after the initial set up, that aspect of using the receiver is over for the most part. Unless you plan on doing a lot of changing of loudspeakers or shifting around of the system, the set up should mostly be just a do it and leave it type thing.

There are several posts in this forum on most of the models you mentioned. They may help you start narrowing down your choices.

Good luck,
Brad

receivers

I have narrowed it down to the Denon 3806, 2807 or the Yamaha 2600. Anyone have any experience with these receivers? Whats going to be my best buy? Thanks
