I just purchased a pair of RF-5s at a local retailer. They were on closeout, so i got them at half price. Just wondering which receiver would be best. I've heard that Denon and Yamaha are not a good match with Klipsch. Anyone with any suggestions?

I'd recommend H/K or Marantz for the Klipsch. NAD would work well too.

I don't agree with the notion that you shouldn't use Yamaha/Denon receivers with Klipsch speakers. In fact a friend of mine built a nice system around the Rf5's, matching center and rears with a Yamaha RX-V2500 and it sounded just fine. The nice thing about Klipsch speakers is you don't need a very powerful amp to drive them.

Audio is not immune from urban legends, hypes, myths voodoo, etc.

This is such an example. Use a receiver that suits your needs in flexibility, and is capable of driving the speaker load and sensitivity.
Nothing more to it. Some go out of their way to make selection into rocket science or more.

I agree with Gene. I have a Denon 2805 with Klipsch RF-3II mains, RC 35 center and RS 35 surrounds and I am quite happy with the sound.
