Receiver for 7ch Legacy Audio set-up

I was fortunate enough to get a great deal on a 7 channel set-up of Legacy Audio speakers. I will be getting a pair of Focus 20/20's, Silver Screen center channel, pair of Mists for side surrounds and a pair of Studio i's for rear surrounds. I don't have the best budget at the moment for a pre-pro set-up due to buying a new home and was wondering if the Yammi 4600 could handle the job? I currently have an older Yammi rx-v2095 powering my klipch synergies(i learned the hard way that the synergies aren't all that) and am torn between going for the HK 7300, the HK 635(since I've heard you can apply it's Logic7 to multi-channel tracks(then eventually adding an amp like the Outlaw 7125 to it), or something else.

I've heard that the Focus 20/20's can be very demanding speakers and their impedance drops way down at times and want to make sure I get a receiver that won't cut out or worse, be damaged by a 7 channel 4ohm speaker set-up. I know the HK's can handle it but I'm looking for other opinions in a similar price range.

Thanks everyone.

Do your Legacy speakers have a built in amp? If so, you can probably get away with a Yamaha RXV 2600 instead of the 4600 if you have lots of cash;) .

The HK's are great, but HK is coming out with new models as we speak, and previous year models have had a few glitches (one is called the "18 months slow blow fuse" ).

You can't beat the 7300 for power vs value. Just be sure you have a local HK authorized shop if you go that route. They get expensive to ship for as much as they weigh.

The Yamaha RXV line is expensive because of the lack of online warranties. HK doesn't suffer from the online purchase issues.

Keep an eye on Harman Kardon Direct through ebay. Every once in awhile, they'll have an AVR7300 for under $1000. It's a refurbished unit with a full warranty - the plus being the bugs have been fixed. IMO, that's the best HK to buy, on that has the "twice over." The 635's always go for great deals there, and are easier to find.

Here's some bench specs on the AVR7300. One of the most powerful 5/7 channel amp sections you can buy in a receiver - period.

The Legacy speakers do not have built in amps, that is why I'm concerned about the receiver I initially buy. I will be using them for music initially since it will take me a while to build the home theater once I get the new home. I was aware of the HK store on ebay and those great prices on the refurb HK units. I was not aware of the fact that there are not authorized online Yamaha dealers though. I'm still leaning towards the HK635 with it's logic7 processing since I've heard so many good things about HK's Logic7. It'll be a few months until I have to get a new receiver so I'll just keep my feelers out and keep asking questions :) .

Thanks
