So, to the hundreds of distinguished panelists that frequent this site, do I sell my recently purchased B&K AVR 507 and buy the new Yamaha RX-Z9? or, leave well enough alone and enjoy the B&K?

IMHO, you should wait for it to be launched and then thorougly audition it with the speakers of your choice and then make the decison. I have aleready sold my RX-Z1 but then I have full faith in Yamaha.

I replaced a yamaha amp with a B & K AVR-505. The sound I'm getting from the B & K is just about perfect. The trick is to learn all the tweaks in the 505.

Although I am Yamaha lover and am on my second RX-V receiver, the B+K products are in a different league soundwise.

I sold high end audio part-time for many years and B+K was the entry ticket to the high end.

The B&K 507 equals quality

The Yamaha z9 runs pretty hot. If you had any other run of the mill receiver I'd say make the jump to the Yamaha.
However, if I was looking across may living room at the B&K-507, I think I'd stick with the 507. The solid sound and build quality of the B&K is hard to beat except by hi-end separates.
Don't be fooled by the Yamaha's whistles, bells, and trinkets. Sound is where it's at.
By the way I own a Yammy RX-2600 that I'm getting ready to sell and buy a B&K

You would have to be nuts to replace the B&K with a Yamaha.. If you are getting rid of it please let me know and I may buy it!
