I received my Axioms, so I have all the speakers now. The only component missing is the speaker wires. Could you guys suggest a cheap speaker wire that I could pick up from a store and start testing the speakers? I will be investing in good cables (not expensive though) later once I have the speakes auditioned and finalized, but for now I just need to pick up something cheap and decent from a store since I dont want to wait for the online order. I ve heard about Radioshack...any suggestion on other stores and which wires to buy?

You just answered your own question. Go out and find the cheapest speaker wires you can find. You already stated you're going to change to better cables later anyway. I'm guessing you're going with BlueJeans cables later on.

...plain ol' 14-16 gauge, two-conductor zip...home centers, large retailers, etc. carry it...measure and cut...good enough to keep permanently, not just for "testing"...Read some of the FAQs and other wire related articles on this site...The only difference between generic zip and things with a name brand is the price...

Relative to the rest of the system, wire is fairly inexpensive and has the least influence on your overall system sound. IMO, I'd just get some decent 14awg right now and never worry about it again.

I use Radio Shack 14 gauge. Works and sounds fine.

I agree that plain old 14g zip is fine.
I recently set up some new speakers. I bought some 16g zip at Radio Shack for temporary use until I received my order from Cobalt Cable (which I bought based on excellent reviews). The cheap 16g sounded fine.
The Cobalt stuff (for two mains, a center channel, and one of their "subwoofer cables") wasn't all that expensive ($250 for the whole set), but sounded no better than the 16g zip.

Sounds Super. Thanks to all you guys for the input. I am leaving for Radioshack as soon as I finish typing this message...there's a lot to do...I finally can start my HT setup.
