Reasonable spending amount for 50-60" TV?

Like the title says, what price range vs quality is best for something around that size? Thanks!

I would say spend what you are comfortable with, I my self buy the cheapest tv I like the picture on, I have an lg I bought on sale 55" for $700 or so about 2 years ago, I think Sharp would be a good brand to go with from what I hear.. I can not stand the new HD, with that soap opera effect, I like a normal picture not too hd, lol if that makes any sense...

I would check out the new E and M series from Vizio. They are miles better than by 5 year old Vizio. I stopped by Futur shop and was watching a 70" M series and it was equal to the Samsung and Sony that flanked it on either side. All that remains tobe seen with Vizio is how they hold up quality wise.
