Rear Surround Mounting??

Okay, I'm getting ready to mount my rear surrounds and am having difficulty deciding on how to run my wiring. I have already routed 12 gauge to the attic. However, I can't decide whether or not to use a plate?? If I use a plate I'd like it to be completely concealed behind the speaker. All of the plates I've found are bulky and wouldn't work well with the Klipsch RS-25's I'm using. Any suggestions?

I've though about just drilling a hole in my dry wall, routing the wire through it, and hanging the speaker over the hole. The only problem is this seems kind of 'hack' to me.

push through bushings

I ran my wires through the wall. I purchased some "push through" bushings from home depot which makes the hole look clean. They are also behind the speakers and you cannot see them, but it gives a cleaner look for those of us who are worried about it.

I just found similiar ones on the radio shack website. Mine are black. http://www.radioshack.com/search/index.jsp?kwCatId=&kw=bushings

Good luck!

Thanks!

One thing though, how did you fish it through the wall with such a small hole?

wire

I made a slightly larger hole just above where the wire will be coming out of the wall. I then put a guidewire up that opening to the attic where I met with the speaker wire, I attached the wire and pulled it down. I then fished the wire back through the the larger hole with two fingers down into the smaller opening (just enough to fit the wire) and out, put the bushing around the wire and stuck the bushing into the wall, being careful not to make the hole bigger than the bushing. I then spackled the larger hole . It's looks perfect even upon close inspection.
