Rear sub placement.

I have a large room 28' wide by 30' long. Cathedral ceiling 8' side walls and 12' peak. Screen is on the 28' width and the ceiling runs with the the 30' length. The screen sets up to the top edge of the cathedral. I have a Denon amp running 7.2.6. My problem is I do not have a good place to put the rear sub. The front sub is on the screen wall (left side) about 1/3 the way across the wall and is sitting on the floor. I have not checked for proper placement. The rear sub has only a few places it can go. On the right or left side under the side surrounds OR hung from the ceiling just in front of the rear wall suspended with the top at around 10' to 11' 6". My primary seating is centered 17' back from the screen which will be about 9' from the front the sub to where I sit.

Does this location have a chance of working?

A chance. Yes. Same chance your front sub has in its location. :)

I always recommend the Subwoofer Crawl to find potential suitable homes. Keep your mind open to the possibilities and don't do it with preconceived notions of where you can and cannot put a Sub. Just find the best sounding locations based on overall SQ. You are looking for Clean Bass, not boomy, muddy, or otherwise muted bass.

Now, it's gonna get asked, so I'll do it first:
What Subs are you using?
