Must be able to handle 110W per channel, prefferably at 8 ohms. So far the best I've found is the M&K K-5, but those are rather hard to come by.

Is your power source (reciver/amp) justed rated at 110w RMS or are you actully planning on driving your surrounds at 110w? If your power source is simply rated at 110w you could get by with a speaker with a lower rating. The are two offerings from B&W: DM303 and the DM600 S3, both are rated to handle 100w and both can be found within your price range and would make excellent surrounds.

Has anyone actually heard either the M&K K-5's or the Ascend Acoustics 170'S?

M&K K5's are nice speakers. The 7's too.

I believe their touted as a very movie-oriented speaker.
Very nice if you like the styling.

Magnolia home theatre in best buys have them pretty consistantly. If you're on the west coast.
