rear centre

what sort of speaker should i use for my rear center? should i simply use another centre or will any surround speaker do?

I was thinking of using 3 MKII athena speakers for my surrounds. But i will look for a centre on its own and get a pair of surrounds if that is the smarter choice.

Three speakers would do just fine, no need to buy a center channel for the rear.

well i ended up with a pair of energy exl-15 booksehelf speakers and a signet slc-40 for a rear centre for the time being... the energy speakers are likely here to stay until i upgrade but i will be on the hunt for either a matching timbre rear centre to the exl-15s or a better rear centre channel depending on how well this signet one performs.... any suggestions?
