My son was in a car accident the other day. Fairly bad one, they went down a ravine on a mountain road. He has a pretty significant concussion, fractured ribs, cuts and bruises. He has memory loss since the concussion, does not remember the entire day of the incident, so I am taking him to the doctor today for a follow up. I don't think he's safe to drive yet, his head is still foggy when talking to him. The girl who was driving broke her ankle, so she is fairly out of commission too, but I told them to be thankful because it wasn't worse.
Hope they both heal well. Scary stuff head injuries.

I am switching between different speakers, depending on the mood ..... I find that quite fun

I Do the same. I have a pair of standmounts and a pair of towers and a good switch box. A fun part of the hobby for me.

Guess there are never too many speakers at home :D
So which pairs do you switch between?

Due to the design of (and relative cost of) the floorstanding loudspeakers in my somewhat small listening room, I really can't place another pair of speakers or easily swap them in and out.

I'm stuck listening to a really good pair, and it's not something I'm disappointed about. :D

I used Audio Physic Avanti III, one of the best ever speakers made byt this brand, ever .... but I sold them, going to standmounts .....

I got a pair of Sonus Faber Guarneri Evolution in Violin Red with matte black aluminium finish on top and bottom. The last pair sold in Norway. They´re from 2019 ..... amaaaaazzzzzzzzing speakers

I have a very old pair of Duntech PCL-15s bought in 1992, one of the late John Dunlavy´s masterpieces, you never ever see them 2nd hand, people don´t wanna get rid of them!

They never leave me, they get into life when I pair them with subwoofers and can employ active x-over with a Trinnov Amethyst.... Standalone they can´t play loud, limited dynamics and bass is extremely limited. But combined with a severly huge power amp, Trinnov Amethyst and 4 subwoofers ......da$#n this is great fun, and there is magic like insane  LOVE IT

I got 4 Audio Physic Rhea II subwoofers, not big killers but I have a pretty small flat and neighbours

As you can possibly see, I have a very special setup with extreme wide speaker setup, close to side walls and wide toe-in ..... works like a dream here..... the subs are set with the active driver pointing outwards and the passive pointing back, works great here :)

KEF Blade 2 Meta. :D

Kind of hard to place a second pair in there without affecting how those sound.

These are some of the coolest speakers on the planet .... I got them demoed once (not the Meta version)
OMG they are insane speakers, CONGRATS

EDIT: I put my 2nd pair of speakers in front of the existing setup, have them on dedicated stone plates, toed in accordingly and make sure the Trinnov is calibrated accoring to their position, works like a charm :)

Thank you! And yes, they are mind-blowing good! Visually they are quite imposing in my room, audibly...they completely disappear!

I haven't read a bad review of them anywhere, though I've got a fellow Luxman owner FB friend in Texas who said he got to audition them at Axpona and characterizes them as "clinical and light on mid-range." He just upgraded from some Tecton Double Impact to a pair of Sonus Faber Maxima Amator.($16k)

Moving these Guarneri Evolution´s around when I want to change is bears and a NO-GO, it´s standmount speakers weighing in at 160lbs each :D

So I need a setup where I can go without moving the Guarneris ... I am setting up the Duntech´s in front so they are getting close to "half nearfield", these are Studio Monitor so they work really well this way. But these are large headphones, tweeter must be pointing straight at you, moving 5" and it all falls apart, it is a one person speaker.

(Spikes missing here, they lost me o_O)

From listening position, getting unreal imaging here

How on earth can a stand mount speaker that size weigh 160lbs??

I had KEF Reference 1 Meta speakers before and they weigh a substantial 41 lbs each, and then I added 31 lbs of weight to the 26 lb stands that they were bolted to for a total of 98 lbs. Those were not easy to adjust for placement, yours must be solid lead! :D

Sorry .... typo here 240 lbs per pair
But too massive to move around o_O

They are massive, just the stands are more than 50% with a granite base and a steel socket with some tuned mass dampers helping to kill resonances within the stand, also tuned mass dampers within the speakers ....

I do something similar with my standmounts placed outside of my towers. The towers are towed in and the stands are easily moved if necessary and pointed towards my listening chair. I thought my 111 lb Arendals were heavy But not as heavy as your standmounts.
