I recently purchased this 5.1 home theater system, however, when I am watching movies/TV shows it seems to have a hard time picking up quiet sounds, such as footsteps, wind blowing, people sighing, etc. I've tried connecting and reconnecting the speakers thinking one of them might not be working but that is not the issue.

I have ordered an optical cable and that will be arriving in the next few days, perhaps that will solve my issue? Or could I have purchased a defective unit? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Anybody? I really need help.
Quite honestly, I think you have purchased a unit no good to man nor beast.

That unit receiver speakers and woofer cost $178 on Amazon. I just don't know why the captains of industry even bother to build a unit like that.

It is absolutely impossible to produce a unit like that, that has any useful purpose for that money. To claim it is 1000 watt is down right fraud.

I read one consumer review that said: - "Sounds OK, if you can hear it!"

So my only advice is to junk that and get something much better.

You really must use some common sense in your purchases. Consumer reviews by the way are worse the useless. You can find glowing reviews for total junk anywhere you look.

By the way avoid HTIB type systems like that at all costs.

Get a decent receiver and speakers. Start with a decent front two and add the rest as funds permit.

I'm like a broken record on this, but junk purchases are the most expensive you ever make.
