RCA RT2500 no sound..

Hello all...I have a RCA model RT2500 (3 yr old) a/v receiver with the following problem. About 6 months ago when I would turn it on (out of standby), it would take a good 5 min before I could hear any sound. Right before the sound returns there was a lot of chopping and clipping of the sound. The other day I turned it on and no sound at all. It has been on for 24 hrs and no sound. I have checked all the cables and speaker wires also. Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated. I love this receiver and would hate to kick it out to the curb. Thanks...Scott

Scott,

To me it sounds like yor capacitors in the amplifier section used to leak (took a while to hear sound) but now are totally shot (no sound). If this has been going on for a while like you said it has it may be time to buy a new receiver. Sorry for the bad news.
