RCA RT2500 - Crackling Sound (Temporary)

My aging receiver is older than all of my children. I can't really afford to purchase a new one.

Here is the issue. I have it setup for 5.1 Dolby Surround (woofer + 5 speakers). I have optical audio going from SAT out to input on TV. I have checked all of the speaker connections.

The problem is: from a cold boot, it can take 30-60 minutes for the receiver to start outputting the actual sound. After the first 30 minutes or so, there is a loud crackling coming from all speakers. This has become progressively worse over time. At first, the time was around 5-10 minutes total.

After the aforementioned time, the crackling subsides and the sound is great - from all channels. I'm really beginning to hate listening to the poor sound from my internal TV speakers. Any ideas would be appreciated.

You will need to take that to a tech. Definitely don't use it since the speakers might be imperiled.
